Year End 2024

We enjoyed a good time of fellowship with a "bring and braai" on the last evening of the year.  Thank you to everyone who contributed and brought delicious salads and desserts.  There were 17 helpings of meat for Tony to braai.  A lengthy, hot job!!   The meal and the fellowship was much enjoyed by all.  We had a very blessed time of breaking bread together around 10.30 p.m.  - the best way to end a year - in communion with the Lord Jesus!!  Most folk leaving in the new year after watching the fireworks from the balcony.

Baptismal Service 14th July 2024

We joined together today at 7 Loop Street, Longacres, to witness the Filmater family, Kobus, Caroline, Angelique and Frans, from Dwarskersbos follow the Lord through the waters of baptism.  Afterwards we shared fellowship over coffee/tea and enjoyed an abundant spread of eats!

Baptismal service

What a joyous occasion we shared together in witnessing the baptism of Belinda, Eddie and Roger on Sunday the 17th March 2024 at the home of Roger and Jennifer.

Tony shared a short word on the fulfilling of the Great Commission - "Go into all the world, preach the gospel, making disciples and baptising them in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, and teach them to observe whatsoever I have commanded you" (Matthew 28 v 18 to 20).  Jesus was baptised by John to fulfill all righteousness and Belinda, Eddie and Roger were likewise fulfilling all righteousness in following the example of the Lord Jesus in being baptized in water.  Water baptism is an outward sign of the inner spiritual experience expressed in Romans 6 of being joined together with the Lord Jesus in His death, burial and resurrection.

Each candidate gave their personal testimony of having received the Lord Jesus as Saviour.  It was a touching experience to hear the accounts of each one's individual, and very different, journey of coming to Christ.  We rejo

iced to hear of the effectual working of the grace of God in their lives.

One by one they each entered the cold water of the pool and were "buried and raised" in this simple and yet profound step of obedience.  We spontaneously burst into song after each baptism and joined together in singing "How Great Thou art" at the end.  We stand together with our brothers and sister and pray that they may be strengthened with might by His Spirit in the inner man to run the race with patience until Jesus comes.

We enjoyed a good time of snacks and fellowship afterwards, together with the various family members who were able to join with us for this special occasion.

Sunday Picnic Lunch

Some 23 of us, including children, enjoyed a picnic lunch on Sunday the 11th February 2024 at Denlyn Park, after the Bible Study.   It was a lovely sunny day under the trees with a cool breeze blowing; very relaxing with good fellowship.

Farewell to Heather and Derrett

Welcome and Goodbye

Today, the 23rd April 2023,  we enjoyed a Boerie Braai to welcome Roger and Jennifer back from Australia.  Neither of them have lost their Irish accents!!

It was with some sadness that we commended Derrett and Heather Evans to the Lord as they move to Noordhoek.  They will be in our thoughts and prayers.
